With more than 20 years of coaching and individual player development experience at the youth, high school and college level, Coach Steve Persian comes to Eden Prairie with two recent Class 1A girls’ hockey state championships (2019, 2020) under his belt from his time as head coach for the Breck girls hockey program.

He also previously served as head coach to the Orono Girls High School program from 2012-2018 and youth teams before that in both Orono and Wayzata. Persian played hockey as a forward for St. John’s University during his college years. Persian is a native of Wayzata, Minn.


Coach Paige Sorensen is entering her second year as part of the Eagles’ coaching staff, specializing as a defensive coach.

She graduated from Wayzata High School in 2015 as a dual-sport varsity athlete, after which she played four years of Division I Hockey at Merrimack College where she double majored in Environmental Studies & Sustainability and Music. While at Merrimack, Paige served as a three-year captain, earning Hockey East all-academic and athletic honors.

Paige resides in St. Louis Park, working as a Sustainability Analyst for Cargill.

Coach Alison Umland has been coaching girls hockey at various levels since 2014. She served as an assistant coach for the Breck School varsity program, where the team won two Class 1A girls' hockey state championships in 2019 and 2020. She has also served as an assistant coach at the 12UA level, most recently winning a State Championship with the Edina Hornets in 2022. 

As a player, Alison played four years of hockey at St. Olaf College and served as a captain of the Oles during her senior year. She attended Wayzata High School where she played four years of varsity hockey and was a captain. When she is not at the rink, Alison works as an attorney in St. Paul.

Coach Mike Umland has 20 years of coaching experience at the high school and youth level, most recently as an assistant coach for the Breck girls varsity hockey program from 2018-2020.

Previously he was an assistant coach for the Orono girls varsity high school program from 2012-2018 and youth teams prior to that in the Wayzata girls program.

Umland played hockey at Osseo during his high school years and currently resides in Plymouth, Minn.


Coach Amanda Leveille joined the Eagles as the goaltender coach during the 2022-2023 season. She is also the Goalie Director for OS hockey and currently plays professional hockey for the Minnesota Whitecaps in the Premier Hockey Federation.

During her 5 seasons as a Whitecap, she won 2 Isobel cups and 2 Goaltender of the Year titles. Amanda previously played for the Minnesota gophers from 2012-2016, winning three national championships. She also played for team Canada's u22 and Development team, winning gold at the Nations cup in Fussen, Germany. 

She has more than 10 years of coaching experience at all levels including several current and past Div. 1 and 3 goaltenders. She has been a goaltender coach and consultant for the elite league and Minnesota high school for the past 5 years. Amanda also has international coaching experience; she was asked in 2019 to help evaluate and coach goaltenders at the Chinese national camp. 

Coach Rob St. Clair currently leads the Eden Prairie girls junior varsity team and has been a part of the JV coaching staff since 2019.

Coach St. Clair served as Eden Prairie girls varsity head coach during the Eagles’ inaugural season in 1995 through 2001. Prior to his time with the girls’ program, he coached with the Eden Prairie High School boys program (1990-1995). He also coaches Eden Prairie High School boys soccer (1997-present).

St. Clair was an English teacher for Eden Prairie Schools for 33 years.

Coach Emma Statt is entering her first year as part of the Eagles’ coaching staff for the 2023-2024 hockey season.

She graduated from White Bear Lake High School where she was a varsity hockey player for the Bears. After high school she attended the University of Minnesota for both her undergrad and master's program.

Emma is currently an English teacher for Eden Prairie High School. In addition to coaching hockey, she is also the head coach for the Eden Prairie girl's 9th grade soccer team.

She is looking forward to inspiring amazing student-athletes in both the classroom and on the ice.
